Is Your Bike Missing?
Many cut locks were found throughout campus in February and March. The UAF PD secured bicycles to prevent theft. All bicycles have now been turned over to the Wood Center as of April 17th 2012.
The UAF Police would like everyone to know their bike's make, model and serial number. Take a picture of your bike and write down the info!
Lost Keys?
Have you lost keys over the winter? We have found many sets. Come by and see if they are yours!
Access and Security Requests
As of Sept. 2010, After Hours or Special Building Access requests must be done using our on-line form after-hours or holiday closure access form. This must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to the request and resubmitted every semester for semester-based requests. Fax and email requestors will be directed to the on-line form.

For CSO/Police Security Requests, required for events of any nature, use www.uaf.edu/police/security-request-form/. Requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the event. Charges do apply for these when it is determined security is required by the Chief of Police or by request of host.

I would like to welcome you to the University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department and to introduce myself. I am Sean McGee, Chief of Police. The UAF Police Department is one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the State of Alaska. I am proud to lead the men and women that make this department extraordinary. I am reminded, on a daily basis, of the excellent work done by all officers, going above and beyond the call of duty on behalf of the residents and visitors to our University.
Ultimately our success depends on the partnership between the community and the police. Years of hard work have resulted in establishing a solid working relationship and productive cooperative efforts to protect our students, our staff, our faculty, and our visitors. The UAF Police Department remains committed to strengthening the crucial bonds of respect and support with the community members that we have sworn to protect. All of our efforts are aimed at making UAF a better and safer place for those who live, work and visit our campus.

Our Mission
Our mission at the department is a simple one: To provide a safe and secure environment for the staff, students, and visitors to campus. This commitment assures the University community that the police department will maintain constant vigilance over their property and personal safety. Our department employs ten professional police officers and twelve student Community Service Officers. Together with our excellent emergency dispatch staff, we provide twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week service to the campus community. The UAF Police, Emergency Communication Center, and the professionals that comprise our department are integral parts of this campus community we proudly serve. We are honored for the opportunity to do so.
