SEMESTER INFO: Students pay $105 Health Center Fee per semester that is automatically assessed during fee payment at 9 credit hours or more. Students taking 6-8 credit hours can pay the fee on an optional basis. Students must be taking a minimum of 6 credits to be eligible to pay the fee.

The Health Center fee of $105 IS NOT insurance. This fee does not take the place of insurance nor does it provide such coverage. Medicines and lab tests are not covered by the Health Center fee. Students may incurr a small charge for these items. Students must be taking 6 credit hours to be eligible. If a student wants the Student Health Insurance added to their account, they need to ask for it and pay through the UAF Business Office.

This fee determines that a student is eligible to receive services at the Student Health and Counseling Center.  Medical and Counseling services are provided for students only. This fee covers 6 free counseling sessions per academic year and office visits.

We see students on an appointment basis. Our goal is to meet the medical and counseling needs of the UAF students and work with the student's schedule as much as we can. We are closed on weekends and follow the UAF Holiday closure schedule. There is a list on the Community Resources page for walk-in and after-hours clinics.

calendar

Students need to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment time. (ex: appt is at 9:00 am, student must arrive at 8:45 am) Bring your Polar Express card for check-in. Students that arrive late for an appointment may need to reschedule.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call us at 474-7043.

We DO NOT accept refills over email. Refill requests need to be made 24 hours in advance by the person the refill is for by calling 474-7043. Your name, student id#, medication & number of refills requested is necessary for us to handle your request promptly. Please provide a good call back phone number.

Because we are NOT a "walk-in" Clinic, we designate "Same Day" appointment times for acute care illnesses or acute injuries on our schedule every day. These times open at 8:00 am, in the morning on a first come first serve basis. An acute illness may consist of fever, vomitting or infection. Please be specific about your illness and its severity so we can ensure enough time for you and the medical provider.

You must call at 8:00 am in the morning because these appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Our last scheduled appointment each day is 4:00 pm. There may be times when all of our same day appointments have been taken, when this happens we do our best to "work-in" students at the discretion of our medical providers. This is not always possible in the same day. The student can choose to use a facility in the community or be scheduled the following day if available.
